To find out more, please visit www.sygnaturediscovery.com.Director of In Vivo PharmacologyA fantastic opportunity has become available to join our Nottingham-based In Vivo Pharmacology department as Director of In Vivo Pharmacology. This is a full-time, on-site position.Reporting to the VP of Global In Vivo Pharmacology, the Director will play a critical leadership role in shaping the strategic direction, scientific excellence, and operational performance of Sygnatures In Vivo Pharmacology division. This UK-based role oversees a team of 30+ in vivo scientists based in Nottingham and is responsible for delivering high-quality scientific outcomes and driving team performance.The Director will provide inspirational leadership, foster a collaborative and innovative working environment, and work closely with the senior leadership team to identify strategic scientific focus areas and commercial growth opportunities. This role requires a strong combination of scientific expertise, leadership skills, commercial insight, and an in-depth understanding of the role in vivo pharmacology plays in integrated drug discovery.Extensive experience in in vivo pharmacology research alongside a proven track record of leading successful project delivery within a pharma or CRO environment is essential.Main duties and responsibilities:Collaborate with senior in vivo pharmacology leaders as part of global in vivo leadership team to develop and implement the global in vivo pharmacology strategyStrategic oversight of recruitment, training and mentoring of employees within the department to support the development of high-performing individuals and teams.Set clear scientific and commercial goals and performance expectations for the department, ensuring accountability is taken at all levels.Establish and nurture relationships with the portfolio of existing partners, coaching and supporting internal teams as neededWork collaboratively with the broader Sygnature Commercial team to identify and progress new business opportunities, participating in client meetings, proposals to support the winning of new stand-alone and integrated projectsSkills and Experience:Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. pharmacology) or equivalent extensive and relevant industry experience.Extensive experience with in vivo pharmacology research), with a proven track record of successful management and delivery to a portfolio of clients and/or projects within a pharma or CRO settingTherapeutic area expertise in metabolic (obesity, diabetes, MASH) and/or CNS disease, with a strong understanding of DMPK and PK/PDStrong leadership skills with previous experience developing and leading high-performing scientific teams in a multidisciplinary, matrix environmentStrong commercial acumen with a proven ability to understand P&L, market dynamics, competitive landscape and business drivers.A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across many diverse organisations externally as well as functions internallyStrategic thinking and the ability to contribute to the overall research and development strategy of the organisationHere at Sygnature Discovery, we take pride in offering an excellent training and benefits package.
