The service is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in forensic psychiatry to work within the low secure male mental illness inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient community service in York.The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.The service is open to part-time and flexible working. The final program of activities will be worked out with the post holder on a ratio of 7.5 direct clinical care to 2.5 supporting professional activities.Main duties of the jobAre you committed to providing high quality patient care? This is an essential requirement, and the Trust is unable to offer you a role if you do not meet Trust requirements for sponsorship and Home Office requirements for a visa.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesThe post holder willHave RC responsibilities for up to 10 male inpatients detained on restricted and unrestricted sections of the MHAAct as consultant psychiatrist for about 20 outpatientsProvide access assessments on behalf of the Humber Coast and Vale secure provider collaborative.Provide risk assessment and management advice for colleagues in acute services.It is anticipated that the frequency of assessments would be about 2 per month.Provide excellent clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, supporting service users to achieve optimal mental wellbeing, reduced risk of offending, social inclusion and transition into the community.Deliver high quality efficient and effective care for service users working collaboratively in a trauma informed collaborative way.Teach, train and supervise junior medical staff and other professionalsComply with the requirements of the GMC and Royal College of PsychiatristsThe post holder will join the Tees Esk and Wear Valley general adult on-call rota.Person SpecificationQualificationsEssentialMBBSFull registration with the General Medical Council with a license to practiceCCT or CESR in Forensic or WAA psychiatry (with appropriate experience) or inclusion on the GMC specialist register anticipated within the next 6 monthsMembership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalentApproved under Section 12 (2)Approved Clinician status (may be anticipated within the next 6months)SkillsEssentialExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEvidence of being a team playerActively engaged in audit and quality improvement173-28625-MED#J-18808-Ljbffr
