Your new roleThe role of the HR Advisor is to provide a professional HR service to all partners and staff within the firm. This is a generalist role covering all aspects of HR within the employee lifecycle with a strong emphasis on HR operations, recruitment and employee relations.Dealing with various HR queries throughout the businessAdministering and overseeing payroll instructions with the external payroll providerReviewing and updating job descriptions and advising managers on recruitment and selection strategiesPreparing job adverts, sourcing CVs, arranging interviews and actively engaging with hiring managers/partners, supporting first stage interviews and managing the candidate until offerCo-ordinating the appointment process for successful applicantsMonitoring key recruitment metrics, such as turnover and retention ratesWorking with the business to negotiate terms and conditions of employment with staffProviding advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processesUsing HRIS to access, input and compile dataSuggesting new HR technology solutions to improve day-to-day operations (e.g. HRIS)Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectationsSupporting the performance development review process (e.g. employee appraisal)Working hours: 40 / week, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (including 1 hour lunch). Beyond induction, you will be able to WFH 50% per fortnight and 50% based in their Southampton office.What you'll need to succeedYou must have at least 2 years' experience in a generalist HR / People Advisor role or similar as part of an HR / People team, ideally having worked in a corporate, professional services environment. Other sector experience will be considered, but excellent attention to detail and an ability to solve problems and improve processes are important. You must be CIPD qualified (level 5 minimum) or equivalent.
