This role is pivotal in embedding sustainable practices into project delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving innovation in low-carbon solutions. Through data-led strategies, cross-team collaboration, and industry insights, the postholder will help shape our path toward a net-zero future.Main Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):Develop and implement methodologies for measuring carbon emissions across construction projects, including embodied carbon in materials and operational emissionsConduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) for construction materials and processesIdentify opportunities for emissions reduction and develop practical implementation strategiesEnsure compliance with UK carbon reporting requirements including SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting) and future regulationsCollaborate with teams to integrate low-carbon solutions into design and construction processesEvaluate and recommend sustainable materials and construction techniquesPrepare carbon reports and disclosures for internal and external stakeholdersStay current with evolving carbon reduction technologies, methodologies, and regulations in the construction sectorRequirements:Minimum 3-5 years of experience in carbon management, preferably within the construction or built environment sectorProven experience with carbon accounting methodologies and greenhouse gas (GHG) protocolsWorking knowledge of UK building regulations, specifically Part L and emerging Future Homes/Buildings StandardsExperience with environmental certification schemes (BREEAM, LEED, etc.)Understanding of PAS 2080 (Carbon Management in Infrastructure)Experience preparing SECR reports and/or TCFD disclosuresKnowledge of Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) methodologies is advantageousLicense/Certification:Clean Full Driving LicenseCSCS Card (desirable)SSSTS (desirable)Job Types:Full-time, PermanentPotential Start Date: Immediate startSchedule: Monday to Friday Expected Hours:No less than 40 hours per weekBenefits:Competitive payCompany vehicleFuel cardOvertime OpportunitiesGovernment Company Pension28 days holiday (including bank holidays)UniformTrainingHealth Assured Programme Company Healthcare Package (after 6 months probation) Work Location:Office based, Ripley, DerbyshireRegular Nationwide travel to sitesJob Reference upon enquiry:Carbon Reduction Manager
