Learning Support Officer Training & DevelopmentA variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.Location - MOD Lyneham (DSEME) with occasional travel to other training sitesSalary - 48,500 per annumOverview:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Officer to join an education and training team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting learners with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) and other additional learning needs. The learners will be primarily 16+. You will be responsible for identifying support requirements, delivering tailored interventions, and promoting inclusive practices across the training environment.Key Responsibilities:Learning Support:Deliver targeted learning support to individuals and small groups.Create individual learning plans and support frameworks.Facilitate study skills sessions to build learner independence.Conduct SpLD assessments and arrange exam access requirements.Promote inclusive teaching strategies among trainers and support staff.Keep current with developments in inclusive learning and assistive technology.Liaise with external support agencies where required.Monitoring & Reporting:Track learner progress and measure the impact of support interventions.Prepare reports detailing learner progress, outcomes, and value-added improvements.Analyse data to identify trends and inform teaching strategies.Ensure all data is managed in accordance with GDPR and internal procedures.Quality Assurance & Improvement:Contribute to self-assessment reviews and internal audits.Support quality improvement initiatives within the training function.Work collaboratively with partner organisations to ensure continuity of support.Stay informed of all relevant legislation, guidance, and quality frameworks.Staff Development & Collaboration:Deliver training to staff on inclusive learning strategies and SpLD.Provide coaching and support to trainers to embed inclusive practice.Assist in developing and maintaining SEN policies and resources.General Duties:Comply with all safeguarding, health and safety, and equality & diversity policies.Undertake other duties appropriate to the role, as required.What we're looking for:Essential Qualifications:Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Level 4 FE, Cert Ed, or PGCE).Recognised qualification in SEND or SpLD.Level 7 qualification for conducting exam access arrangements.Essential Experience:Supporting learners in adult or further education settings.Conducting SpLD assessments and implementing tailored learning support.Managing learner progress data and producing outcome reports.Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support learner needs.Desirable Experience:Working within vocational or technical training environments.Coaching/mentoring staff or learners.Using digital reporting tools such as Power BI or College IP.Experience supporting learners within a regulated or military context.Additional Information:This is a full-time, site-based role with occasional travel to other training centres.Security clearance may be required depending on site access requirements.Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
