Estimator Fit-Out & InteriorsPlease read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.Location: SomersetStart date: ASAPSalary:55,000 - 65,000 per yearReports to: Managing DirectorManages: Junior Estimator Were working with a leading interiors and fit-out specialist to recruit an experienced Estimator with a solid commercial background and the ability to support project delivery from tender through to final account. This role is hands-on, commercially led and central to how the business secures and delivers profitable work. Youll be involved across the full lifecycle producing accurate take-offs and estimates, engaging with the supply chain, supporting operational delivery, and managing variations and final accounts. Youll also have line management responsibility for a Junior Estimator, so team leadership and mentoring is a key part of this role.What Youll Be Doing:Producing accurate take-offs and estimates for retail, commercial and public sector interior fit-out projectsPreparing tender packs, interrogating subcontractor returns and negotiating contract sumsLeading pre-construction commercial planning profitability models, procurement schedules, and risk assessmentsSupporting delivery teams with on-site valuations, variation management, and final account submissionsEnsuring all pricing and supply chain activity aligns with JCT/NEC contract termsStaying commercially sharp on house accounts and pricing exercises to keep the offer competitiveManaging and mentoring a Junior Estimator setting the standard on performance, development, and commercial disciplineWhat Were Looking For:Proven experience in estimating and cost management in the fit-out, interiors, or specialist subcontracting sectorStrong understanding of JCT and NEC contractsConfident managing project risks, supply chain relationships, and client negotiationsProficient with estimating tools (e.g., Bluebeam) and MS OfficeClear communicator, comfortable presenting commercial submissions to leadership or clientsAble to lead and develop a junior member of staffCommercially astute, organised, and comfortable working on multiple projects at onceIdeal Background:Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Cost Manager or Commercial Manager with interiors experienceBackground in retail, commercial, or public sector fit-out projectsBTEC or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related fieldIf interested please feel free to get in touch on 01772 208967 or via email at james.glover@servicecare.org.uk
