Role: Commercial AssistantSalary: 30k-40kLocation: BarnsleyHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – FridayContract: Permanent, on site. OverviewWe are partnering with a leading facilities management provider to recruit a Commercial Assistant for their Complex Facilities Team in Barnsley.We're looking for someone with some experience in an assistant commercial or QS role. The successful candidate will provide key support in the commercial delivery of a large Schools PFI contract.The RoleThis is a hands-on, fast-paced role that will involve a range of commercial administration duties, including:Setting up and maintaining subcontractor and supplier contractsReviewing and processing applications for paymentSupporting monthly reporting cycles and maintaining financial recordsKeeping commercial admin tasks up to date and well-organisedAssisting in the preparation of monthly valuations and cost reportsAttending and taking notes during monthly commercial meetingsSupporting the wider commercial and operational teams with documentation and data inputEnsuring all activity aligns with company processes and contractual obligationsWhat We're Looking ForIdeally 2+ years’ experience in a commercial assistant, junior QS, or administrator role, preferably within a facilities management or construction environmentGood understanding of commercial processes and contract administrationConfident reviewing payment applications and raising queries where neededHighly organised with excellent attention to detailComfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office toolsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsA proactive, team-focused approachThis role is ideal for someone looking to build on their existing experience in a supportive and structured commercial team, with exposure to a major PFI contract.Ready to apply or want to know more?
