The IT Operations Team is responsible for ensuring that our IT infrastructure and business services are secure, fit-for-purpose, operational, reliable, resilient, and cost effective. The IT Systems Administrator will be part of that team providing high level technical support across multiple systems and applications as well as supporting projects to improve IT services.The roleThis is a great opportunity for a seasoned Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations Team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager you will be an escalation point for complex technical incidents from the 1st and 2nd line support teams. You will be expected to take ownership and ensure incidents are resolved in a timely manner, providing feedback to further develop IT colleagues as required. You will act as a main point of contact when dealing with third-party suppliers and will be expected to log tickets and follow up through to resolution in a timely manner. You’ll identify root causes of issues and implement resolutions, as well as highlighting and reporting any possible security, performance or cost reducing actionsYou’ll be a key player in proactively ensuring our infrastructure is operational and supports our business needs, as well as monitoring the health and performance of our systems, tracking software versions and implementing patches or upgrades, and running data backups as needed.You’ll need to approach things with a security first mindset, and follow best practices to maintain integrity of our IT infrastructure, protecting the systems from any internal or external malicious activityFCA certification regime & conduct rulesL&C is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 6 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules will be reported to the FCA annually. Your technical skills and analytical ability allow you to provide high level support across multiple systems and ensure these systems are fit for purpose and operational. Ideally you’ll have knowledge and experience with the following:MS Azure knowledge, with experience of the following;Entra ID ManagementAzure storage accountsAzure Virtual Desktop (AVD)Azure Virtual machine managementMS 365 administration of;TeamsSharePointIntuneOn prem infrastructure experience including;Building and configuration of MS Windows ServersNetwork device and/or firewall configuration and supportYou’ll need to have excellent written and verbal communication skill combined with strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to interact effectively with colleagues across all levels of the business, and external third parties.
