Maintenance & Facilities Manager Location: Sheffield Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (Depending on experience) Full-Time | Permanent | DaysAre you an experienced Maintenance Manager looking for your next leadership role within a forward-thinking manufacturing business? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Sheffield that’s looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to take ownership of all on-site maintenance and facilities functions.This is a key role in the business where you’ll lead a small team of engineers and technicians, manage external contractors, and be responsible for the ongoing reliability of plant equipment, buildings, and site services. You’ll also drive the company’s preventative maintenance strategy and play a crucial part in minimising downtime across production.The Role:As Maintenance & Facilities Manager, your responsibilities will include:Leading and developing the site’s maintenance strategy to reduce downtime and improve reliabilityManaging the PPM system and ensuring scheduled tasks are completed on timeDay-to-day management of the maintenance team and external contractorsOverseeing both reactive and planned maintenance activities for all site equipment and infrastructureEnsuring all works comply with health & safety, environmental, and legal standardsConducting root cause analysis for equipment failures and implementing engineering solutionsManaging departmental budgets and maintenance costsMaintaining accurate records including service sheets, technical documentation, and compliance certificatesDriving a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks and safety initiativesWhat We’re Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you’ll need:NVQ Level 4 / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or a time-served apprenticeshipIOSH qualification or similar H&S trainingPrevious experience in a Maintenance Management or Supervisory role within manufacturing or engineeringStrong leadership and organisational skills – able to get the best out of your teamExperience managing both in-house engineers and external contractorsA solid understanding of PPM systems and continuous improvement principlesExcellent communication skills and a solutions-focused mindsetWhat’s in it for you?£45,000 – £50,000 basic salary (depending on experience)25 days holiday + bank holidaysCompany pension schemeLong-term career opportunity with a reputable employerMonday to Friday role – no shiftsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a secure and growing business where your leadership and technical skills will be truly valued.
