A well respected London Market Syndicate are recruiting for a Portfolio Delivery Lead to play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising a portfolio of strategic large individual and/or multiple medium-smaller-scale projects. Ensuring all projects align with business objectives and deliver measurable impact.As Portfolio Delivery Lead you will:Pro-actively project manages where demand dictates, ensuring expectations and deadlines are metMaintaining a deep awareness of execution details while staying elevated enough to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities across multiple projectsAn intimate familiarity with project execution, particularly for key initiatives, and capable of communicating clear status updates, risks, and recommendations at a senior levelLine management responsibility for all project managers and beyond tracking project progress, will enforce adherence to scope, combining subject matter expertise to implement improved efficiency, and coach teams to drive accountability and best practicesPlay an active role in supporting the Head of IT Delivery (UK and Bermuda) in evolving the Change Management Framework and championing its benefits across the GroupKey Responsibilities:Responsible for the line management of all project managersUtilise extensive industry knowledge to understand any project or program scope, constructively challenging to determine optimal delivery methods in alignment with budget and timelineBe a 'team leader' for all project managers. Being perceived as a guiding force, someone who demonstrates vision, integrity, empathy and effective communication skills. An individual who can see and harness the potential in others, helping them to reach their fullest potentialWorks closely with the Portfolio Management Office to:Identify areas for improvement and enhancement in the delivery of Change & TransformationDrive process adherence and continuous improvement among project managersManage any conflicts that cause impact to deliveryProactively manage the delivery of key strategic initiatives in accordance with the Change Management FrameworkSupport and guide the team in the undertaking of all aspects of the planning process, including maintaining and managing detailed plans throughout a project life cycleCollaborate with all stakeholders, contributors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure project deliverables are met according to plan and budgetCreate necessary project documentation, ensuring all documents are complete, accurate, current, and stored appropriately in line with the Change frameworkBring an inquisitive mindset, not afraid to ask questions or challenge accepted norms, and champion continuous improvementPerson SpecificationExperienced leader of people, having the ability to build strong relationships, coach and mentor team membersExtensive, demonstrable project and programme management experience in the Insurance industry, coupled with the ability to think strategicallyStrong end-to-end Project Lifecycle experience, using a variety of methodologiesAbility to facilitate, collaborate, influence and drive resolution across different stakeholders within the groupDemonstrates the confidence and communications skills required to work with people at all levels of the companyProactive and organised with good attention to detailAlways leads by exampleHighly professional, energetic, diplomatic, calm, pragmatic and solution drivenExceptional problem-solving skillsSelf-sufficient and a self-starter who can think and act proactivelyA willingness to be flexible and respond appropriately to changing and / or conflicting demands
