MEP Engineer (Sustainability)£400 a day6 MonthsRemoteInside IR35Job Description: Develop and Maintain Design Standards• Review and update building design criteria and guidelines to align with current industry standards and best practices• Document and standardize mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering specifications• Create and maintain technical documentation for design standards and proceduresSustainability and Technical Support• Evaluate and recommend sustainable design solutions for mechanical and plumbing systems• Assess energy efficiency opportunities and propose improvements• Analyze building performance data to optimize system designs• Drive innovation in sustainable building technologies and practicesDesign Review and Quality Control• Review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design submissions for compliance with established standards• Provide technical guidance and expertise to internal and external stakeholders• Ensure design solutions meet sustainability targets and performance requirements• Validate engineering calculations and specificationsProfessional Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field• Professional Engineering certification preferred• 5+ years of experience in MEP design• Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards• Experience with sustainable design principles and green building certification processes• Proficiency in relevant design software and modeling toolsTypical task breakdown and rhythm:Daily collaboration with GBDE, GR Sustainability and Ops Sustainability teamsEvaluating various design options and pilotsLikely a mix of independent analysis and group discussionsRegular reporting on findings and recommendationsPossible involvement in implementing and monitoring pilot projectsAttending relevant meetings and workshopsStaying updated on sustainability trends and innovations in the fieldInteraction level with team:High level of interaction expected on a daily basisClose collaboration with GBDE, GR Sustainability and Ops Sustainability teamsRegular communication through various channels (e.g., in-person meetings, video calls, emails, collaborative tools)Potential for cross-functional teamwork with other departmentsMay involve presenting findings and recommendations to senior managementCould include mentoring or knowledge sharing with junior team membersIf you are interested apply or send your CV to luke.sandilands@
