Window Fixers required with immediate start available in Stratford, London, E20 1HZ. The project started last year and will be finish by the end of this year so we will coninuasly be hiring at least 2-5 installers every week for the remaining of the year to join the existing installation teams. We are looking for experienced Window Fixers (facade Installers or Fixers who): * Live locally (preferably) in Stratford, London, E20 1HZ. * Have got a CSCS Card, preferably with NVQ Level 2. * Have good practical skills, stamina to carry materials and tools and confidence when working at height. * Have a minimum of 1 year experience on site in glazing and cladding aluminium facades. * Have got own tools: hand tools and a Cordless Combi Drill and an Impact Driver. * Can provide a high standard of work, first time, every time. * Care about our client and the site, first time, every time. * Have an awareness of health and safety, especially when working with glass and working at height. Site Working Hours are: Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00, paid 9 hrs. Saturdays YES but not all the time and sometimes only certain teams, paid x 1.5/ time and a half. Over Time YES but only when required or needed, paid x 1.5/ time and a half. Project Duration: 10 months plus and after that relocating to another project in London area. We can offer you: * Negotiable rates on experience, from £38,000 to £45,000 per year. * Payment in advance/ on account when needed. * Working in a team with very strong order book. * High volumes of work – as much as you can safely handle. * The chance to renegotiate the agreed/ start salary after just 6 weeks depending on tasks and responsibilities and depending on how the installer/ fixer integrates in the site team. * Training and Qualification - the opportunity to obtain NVQ level 2 fenestration/ cladding qualification, free of charge or partially charged and the access to our training providers to develop or refresh your skills. * In time, with experience, you could become a Team Leader or a Supervisor (extra training and support will be provided) * The flexibility to change the trade from Installer/ Fixer to a Plant/ Machinery Driver such as a forklift, cherry picker, scissor lift mini crane and the training provided or even to get trained as Slinger and Signaller. * Flexibility to work on a temporary or permanent contract. What a Window Fixer do? As an Window Fixer, you’ll be responsible for installing windows, doors, ready glazed panels, metal copings, metal soffits, glass balustrades, metal cladding of balconies and other areas between slabs, ensuring fittings are fit for purpose and weathertight as per the drawings supplied or explained by a team leader, supervisor or a manager. The job role of the Window Fixer involves the following duties: * You will work in one fixed location/ one site, indoors and outside in all weathers. * You will have to have to work at heights and on scaffolding. * You will lift heavy window units and glass using mini cranes or other lifting machineries or equipment. * Working alone or in a small team of at least two (a fixer with a fixer or a fixer with a fixer mate). * Using hand and power tools to install aluminium profiles, windows, doors, double glazed units and panels, etc. * Taking measurements from the grid or/ and datum offsets lines provided by an engineer. * Fixing windows, glass and double glazed units and panels in place. * Sealing fittings to make them weathertight. * Working with metal fittings. * Carrying out minor repairs and snagging which incurred during the installation process. * Adjusting, removing or replacing of windows handles, hinges or opening and closing mechanisms. * Protecting the glass with COREX. * Clearing away leftover materials asap, after the job and not later by the end of the shift day.
