The HR Officer will play a key operational role within the Human Resources team, supporting the end-to-end employee lifecycle with a strong emphasis on recruitment and selection. The role requires a proactive and organised individual with at least 2 years experience in a generalist HR Officer capacity, who is confident working across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Key tasks will include but are not limited to: HR Tasks:Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and staff on policies and procedures.Support the maintenance and update of HR policies in line with legal and best practice requirements.Ensure accurate HR documentation and record-keeping across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.Assist with coordinating employee engagement activities to promote a positive workplace culture.Lead and champion employee wellbeing and engagement activites.Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of HR support.Recruitment and Selection:Coordinate and support the end-to-end recruitment process including drafting adverts, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer paperwork.Ensure recruitment activities are legally compliant and aligned with best practices.Manage onboarding of new starters including issuing contracts, verifying right to work, and delivering HR inductions.Maintain accurate records of recruitment activity including interview outcomes and candidate feedback.Liaise with hiring managers to understand resourcing needs and support with effective workforce planning.Post job roles across suitable platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed, internal systems).Maintain and update job descriptions and person specifications in collaboration with line managers.Contribute to improvements in recruitment and retention strategies.Employee Relations:Provide first-line support and advice on routine ER matters such as absence, probation, and conduct.Assist in the coordination of investigations, disciplinary or grievance processes as required.Maintain up-to-date and confidential records of any ER activity.Compensation and Benefits:Support the payroll process by ensuring accurate and timely submission of HR-related changes.Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee queries relating to entitlements.Systems and Compliance:Maintain the HR system with accurate employee data, including new hires, job changes, and leavers.Ensure employee files are kept compliant with internal and legal standards (e.g. right to work documentation, GDPR).Assist with audits and compliance reporting as required.GeneralEnsure that you treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner in accordance with the Dignity at Work Procedure.You are required to adhere to and promote the Equal Opportunities Policy throughout the course of your employment.You must maintain high standards of personal accountability.You must co-operate with others on health and safety policies and procedures.You must comply with the no smoking policy.Please note this is a fixed term position for 12 months.
