Job Description

Sateba UK would like to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for their busy Maintenance Team working on site for their HS2 project.Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.This role will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of preventative planned maintenance and repair/fault response for all areas of the Green Tunnels plant and surrounding areas.Duties:Carrying out preventative & reactive maintenanceReporting faults and issues picked up on routine preventative maintenance.Using and maintaining specialised machines and toolsAssembling components so they are ready for installation.Reading and interpreting schematic drawingsPlumbing basics understandingCarrying out planned maintenance checksCompleting work orders and recording materials that are used on the job.Responding to breakdownsBasic machining using lathes, milling machine, press, pedestal drill etc.Reporting any defects to line management.Ensuring excellent housekeeping standards in line with site safety requirementsEnsuring all HSQE requirements are complied with.Basics hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and all mechanical production assets (not essential, but beneficial)Qualifications:Mechanical knowledge and aptitudeProficiency in English, both written and verbalExperience with welding and fabrication is a plusFamiliarity with electrical systems and componentsExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and prioritise tasks effectivelyKnowledge and Experience:Preferred experience in concrete/pre-cast sector, construction materials or construction sector generally, and/or specific experience in an environment with similar mechanical plant configurationIdeally experienced with working within medium / heavy industrial industryGood mechanical knowledge including hydraulic systems.Being able to work within a team or alone to fault find and able to use initiative to rectify faults.Experienced with carrying out planned maintenance and proactive with reporting faults.Flexible with working weekends when required.An open & willing to learn attitude & character.Experience of:Fitting & stripping of hydraulic & pneumatic equipment (beneficial),Milling, turning, drilling & grinding experienceUsing hand tools for precise operationsNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
