This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong background in equipment or generator hire who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Operational OversightSupervise and support key depot functions, including:Hire DeskGenerator PDI TeamElectrical PDI TeamTransport & Logistics TeamOversee the complete generator hire process, ensuring efficient and timely service deliveryLiaise with the Asset Management team to maintain optimal stock and fleet availabilityCustomer Service & Relationship ManagementAct as the escalation point for high-profile or complex customer enquiriesSupport and mentor Rental Controllers to uphold excellent service standardsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholdersCompliance & SafetyEnsure all equipment meets relevant safety, compliance, and company standardsOversee depot health and safety procedures, promoting a culture of safety and accountabilityMaintain high standards across the site, ensuring it reflects company valuesReporting & AnalysisProvide regular performance updates and operational reports to the Depot ManagerUse data to drive performance improvements and process optimisationMonitor customer satisfaction and team performance metricsWhat Were Looking For:Proven experience in a leadership role within the equipment hire or power generation sectorStrong commercial understanding of generator or plant hire operationsDemonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams including drivers, engineers, internal sales, and administratorsExcellent organisational and multitasking abilitiesProficiency in rental management systems/softwareStrong knowledge of health & safety and industry compliance standards
