Our people are empowered and supported to challenge the status quo, implement their ideas and make a real impact.Whats in it for you at Brookbanks?Personal development: we provide the opportunity to develop cross-disciplinary expertise, funded chartership, mentoring and professional development.Hybrid and flexible working: we trust you to decide how you work best and endeavour to accommodate your personal circumstances.Scale and scope: youll be part of many of the UKs most prestigious projects from day one.Personable environment: as a UK, privately-owned consultancy, youll be more than just a number.Roadmap for progression: were expanding into new sectors and regions, ensuring we can honour your progression.Autonomy: youll have the freedom to work in your own way, create change and shape the company.Innovation: free from rigid processes or layers of hierarchy, we encourage fresh thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset.As a Senior Cost Consultant you will be working onA wide variety of commercial build, residential and mixed use developments ranging from 5m to 500m.Acting as the sole contact for clients as well as providing support to the existing team in the delivery of projects.Delivering projects in line with commercial, procurement, and contractual strategies.Ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality (EHSSQ) standards.Leading contractor selection, appointment, and management.Mentoring junior staff and lead cost planning on complex projects.Supporting business development, bid writing, and client strategy.Driving value engineering, lifecycle costing, and benchmarking initiatives.Cost Planning:Prepare cost budgets, elemental cost plans (NRM), and feasibility assessments.Provide advice on client development plans.Coordinate across cost, planning, engineering, and environmental teams.Procurement:Advise on procurement strategy and manage tender processes.Assemble tender lists, issue documents, and run competitive tenders.Evaluate tenders, prepare contract reports and documents ensuring compliance.Post-Contract:Review payment applications, prepare certificates, and manage change control.Generate cost reports, forecasts, and assess compensation events.Attend progress meetings and promote commercial awareness.Support dispute resolution, contract close-out, and develop commercial strategies.Oversee project timelines, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation.Act as the primary client contact.What do we look for: Consultancy experience in Quantity SurveyingProven delivery of high-value (100m+) and complex (5m500m) projects.MRICS or equivalent in surveying/engineering discipline.Strong cost planning, feasibility, procurement, and post-contract expertise.Commercially astute, proactive, and well-organised.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Strong client-facing and stakeholder management capabilities.Skilled in team collaboration and workload prioritisation.Business development skillsFull driving licence.Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience managing design-to-budget processes with minimal supervision.Ability to identify new business opportunities and drive client account growth.Want to find out more?To learn more over a confidential chat, simply apply or contact Zoe Evans, Head of Talent.
