You will support children crossing the road during morning and afternoon periods, ensuring pedestrian safety. We seek a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public. This position involves approximately 7.5 hours per week, including holiday pay, during the 39 weeks of the school year. Shifts are around 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and afternoon (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided. Responsibilities:Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians. Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing. Assess risks at the crossing site regularly, report issues to your supervisor. Assist in preparing reports on accidents and incidents at the crossing. Maintain the condition of uniform and equipment, requesting replacements as needed. Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians are safe to cross.
