Job SummaryThe appointment is for a Locum Consultant in General Surgery within our friendly and well-established Surgical Specialties Division at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. There will be opportunity to work with colleagues in the development of new and effective patient care pathways in a department which strives to provide excellent services.This post is designed to support the existing provision of upper gastrointestinal surgery, as well as developing the provision of laparoscopic surgery for benign upper gastrointestinal diseases.Key aspects of the role will include development of emergency services as well as provision of surgical ambulatory care, emergency Upper GI surgery (including hot gall bladder lists) and support for the general on-call rota. Experience in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery. Skilled in endoscopic investigations and interventions Broad clinical experience in Emergency General Surgery including acute laparoscopic cholecystectomy and bile duct exploration sufficient to function on the Consultant General Surgical Emergency rota.
