The company operates across diverse sectors, including water, renewables, infrastructure, power and utilities, ports and harbours, as well as regulatory and governmental projects.Your new roleCollaborate with senior leadership to expand the business across the UKLead and mentor consultants to ensure timely, high-quality reportingOverseeing consultancy outputs, reviewing reports and providing constructive feedbackContribute to tender preparation, including proposals, budgeting, and scope developmentManage projects with multidisciplinary teams across various locationsDevelop and maintain strong client relationships and stakeholder managementRepresent the consultancy at networking events, conferences, and business development meetingsIdentify and secure new opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing clientsWhat you'll need to succeedEssential:Strong knowledge of EU and UK legislation related to ecology, environmental issues, and Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA)Demonstrable project experience, particularly within Scotland and preferably EnglandExperience leading protected species surveys and mitigation projectsProven ability to support junior ecologists in their professional developmentAbility to expand and manage a terrestrial ecology portfolio in a consultancy settingExpertise in delivering ecological advice and innovative mitigation solutionsDesirable:Track record of securing new business opportunities and preparing bids/tendersFull CIEEM membership or eligibilityHolding at least one protected species licence or qualification as an experienced botanist (FISC Level 4+)Experience leading and motivating a teamWhat you'll get in returnCompetitive annual salary (45,000 - 55,000)Excellent career development opportunitiesPrivate medical insurance 33 days of annual leave (excluding bank holidays)Flexible and remote working options What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
