Print Setter - permanent position 5+ years experience of printing and mechanical machine setting is a must Have a look at the website to see the variety and complexity of what we do - note that we are printing round aluminium components - the process is dry rotary offset printing. Ashfield Extrusion Ltd is a specialist in the manufacture of aluminium impact extrusions and subsequent machining, finishing and printing operations. The Company makes a wide range of products for a number of markets including military and packaging industries. We export over half of what we make. Owing to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a Print Setter to set and oversee the running of coating, printing and lacquering machines. This is a good opportunity for a permanent secure position in a successful business. The print department is a key asset to the business as most of our competitors do not print their own parts. This makes us very attractive in the market. The Company has a turnover in the region of £9 million per year with around 85 employees. The job: 5+ years experience of mechanical machine and print setting is a must Full time setters are what we are looking for - not setter / operators You will be responsible for: - Machine setting and adjustment involving frequent changeovers - Health and Safety - Quality of product and adherence to procedures - Production performance and efficiencies - Housekeeping and tool care The person: - Experienced print machine setter - print and mechanical setting - Positive “get it done” attitude - Attention to detail and committment to following procedures - Ability to assist in problem solving - Lead operators by example - An eye test for colour blindness is part of the interview process We expect to have to train people as the work we do is quite unusual but with a good printing and mechanical skill level to start with this is not such a long process. Shift times are: 7-30 to 4-30 mon to thurs, 7-30 to 2 on friday when on regular days We work a 9 day fortnight so every second friday is a non-work day making a 37 hour week on average. Regular contracted overtime one or two evenings per week to 8pm to cover evening shift - paid at overtime rate Holidays: 24 per year plus statutory.
