We invest heavily in ongoing training and development to ensure our teams not only have fulfilling careers but also deliver best in class technical advice and services to our clients.Role Purpose:Manage a multi-talented team to execute a variety of proposals, FEEDs and Studies in the downstream energy sector; representing the Company in the UK and overseas.Full technical discipline proficiency and confident delivery of the following duties with minimal management intervention required:CommunicationMaintain direct contact with Clients, Operations Representatives, Leadership and key stakeholders regarding engineering proposals, FEEDs and Studies status highlighting key challenges and action plans.Communication with proposals team, contractors and suppliers to deliver engineering department priorities including cascading company and department information.Work alongside business development to fully develop engineering proposals for both internal and external customers.Co-ordination with other Project Managers regarding project priorities, resource management and effective delivery of the engineering department portfolio.PeopleLine management of a team including setting targets, professional development, performance management and bi annual appraisals.Planning and Project ManagementEnsure the planning, governance and safe delivery, of a portfolio of FEEDs and Studies based on company and department prioritiesEnsure FEEDs and Studies are completed in accordance with BPA procedures to the clients satisfaction.Ensure FEEDs and Studies are completed in accordance with National and BPA HSSEQ standardsAccountable for the financial consequences of decisions and actions for the control of manpower and cost targets to safeguard profit, the control of client budgets and third-party costs for the allocated project portfolioDesignManage portfolio project risks, escalating to the Head of Engineering as appropriate.Apply professional engineering discipline, judgement and constructive thinking to the selection of design solutionsEnsure engineering designs completed by the team are in accordance with relevant company, client, national and international standardsReinforce the importance of design reviews with project stakeholders to ensure a high standard of engineering integrity.Business DevelopmentMaintain and develop existing and new client relationships to secure new project work.Identify new opportunities and develop proposals for Client review and approval.Develop, input, maintain and present to Clients the companys annual engineering plan.What will you need?Degree qualified in a relevant technical discipline (preferably engineering)Demonstrable expertise in leading, managing and building effective teams however no line management experience necessaryTechnical self sufficiency, with an understanding of other disciplines and depth and range of management experience of projects within the downstream energy sector.Minimum of 8 years experience in the downstream energy sector or equivalent.Valid UK driving licenceSalary:Basic Salary of 68,000-72,000Our BenefitsCompany VanLaptop & PhoneTools/EquipmentGenerous pension (up to 12% employer, minimum 2% employee contributions)Annual BonusLife insurance (4x annual salary)28 days holiday + Bank HolidaysAdditional holiday purchase schemeEnhanced family friendly policiesEmployee assistance support schemeVarious well-being initiativesBPA is 'Great Place To Work' Certified!Diversity & InclusionResearch has shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet all requirements.
