An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) experience to join a leading provider of critical engineering services, supporting the delivery of some of the UKs most significant and secure infrastructure projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor role is based at their Trafford Park office on a permanent staff basis. The successful candidate will work alongside senior stakeholders to manage the commercial and financial aspects of major, complex schemes.Key Responsibilities: Senior Quantity SurveyorProviding pre and post-contract commercial advice to operational teamsLeading negotiations with clients, consultants, and supply chain partnersAdvising on and managing commercial risks across assigned projectsPreparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accountsManaging subcontractor accounts and implementing robust change control processesCompiling monthly commercial reports and conducting contract reviewsSupporting the production of management accounts and financial reportingLeading and developing a team, including Junior Quantity SurveyorsCandidate Profile: Senior Quantity SurveyorThe ideal candidate will be a commercially astute professional with demonstrable experience in the MEP sector and infrastructure delivery. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to lead and influence both internal teams and external stakeholders.Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)Significant experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level within the infrastructure sectorProven track record in MEP-focused commercial deliveryStrong working knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly Options A, C, and EFull UK driving licenceStrong leadership and team management capabilitiesExcellent negotiation and communication skillsHigh levels of initiative and problem-solving abilityCommitted to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvementAbility to work autonomously while contributing to wider team goalsCompany InformationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
