This role will be primarily ward-based, with opportunities to work in inpatient and outpatient dispensaries and dispatch areas.Experience in pharmacy is welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided. Successful applicants without pharmacy experience will start at Band 2 (£23,615 per annum) until completing a training course, after which they will move to Band 3 (£24,071 - £25,674 per annum pro rata).We value candidates with a friendly demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills who can work effectively both within the pharmacy team and with the wider multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.In the ward-based part of this role, you will help manage stock systems to ensure efficient and economical provision of medicines. You will assist in providing medicines for discharge, transport prescriptions and medicines between wards and pharmacy, undertake mandatory audits and data collection, evaluate the reusability of returned medicines, advise on stock control, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.Dispensing duties include preparing medicines for inpatients and discharge patients, entering orders into the computer, packaging orders, and delivering them to appropriate areas.You will join a friendly and supportive team in a positive environment.
