This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team delivering a full programme across the school year. This will incorporate HPV vaccinations to Year 8 pupils, Men ACWY and TD/IPV to year 9 pupils, MMR catch up and the Flu programme from year R to Year 11 The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly across localities during delivery of the immunisation programme if needed. This is a permanent post working 28 hours a week term-time only. All applicants must hold a Registered Childrens Nurse or a Registered Nurse qualification and able to demonstrate relevant experience with children and young people or vaccination programmes. We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to be part of our team. You must be organised, and able to work well independently, and with others within the team. Excellent communication skills are essential to support the collaborative working with education staff and other health care professionals. Full training will be given. Car driver and owner are essential. Main duties of the jobTo be part of a team delivering the immunisation programme to school children in schools across Portsmouth, Southampton and IOW for Solent NHS Trust. You will be expected to relay key health promotion messages to children, families, and staff in education. Contribute to the planning and giving of the immunisations and rolling out the programme across the cities. You may be required to work flexible hours to ensure good coverage at times convenient to the public. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of health and social care needs of young people within schools across the cities. You will be promoting the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, identified within the defined client group and their families.
