Vulcain Engineering Group provides Engineering consultancy services across multiple Industry sectors on a global scale.Is your CV ready If so, and you are confident this is the role for you, make sure to apply asap.With operations in 40 countries and employing over 6000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by providing expertise in the form of high added value engineering services.Our UK business, is well positioned within the UK Nuclear industry.By consistently delivering exemplary outcomes for our customers the Group has seen steady growth and expansion.We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Project Support Officers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England.Join us and be part of making a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).The Role This is a Project Support Officer position, working in a transverse role supporting several project managers to support delivery of the HPC Project engineering contract, in accordance with contract terms and conditions and in line with the overall Project schedule.Key Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the role of the Project Support Officer is to support the Responsible Designer (RD) Contract Project Managers to successfully manage the RD Contract and ensure that the engineering is delivered safely to cost, schedule and quality, and in line with the terms and conditions of the Contract.Other responsibilities of the PSO include; To develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, co-ordinating their input to achieve project objectives Assist the delivery of the contract and associated activities to enable them to be achieved safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements Monitor and manage the client governance processes- track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget Coordination and recording meetings, production of project documentation, producing reports and providing supporting guidance Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract, effectively use escalation routes when necessary Candidate Requirements Previous experience in Project Management or Project Engineering on large or complex engineering or construction projects is desirable Knowledge of and experience in working with NEC contracts Excellent organisational and communication skills Coordination skills and leadership Decision making and escalation ability for resolution of issues Budget and commercial awareness Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate evidence of using a problem-solving approach Ability to build strong working relationships with and effectively manage internal and external stakeholders Benefits Hybrid working Work flexibly between home and site Private medical & dental insurance 25 days annual leave bank holidays Matched pension scheme Secure your future Cycle to work scheme Ongoing training & development Invest in your growth Employee referral scheme Enhanced maternity & paternity pay Travel & life insurance Employee assistance program Support when you need it Due to the nature of the work, role holders will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and hold Independent Right to Work in The UK.
