If you're passionate about retail, highly organised, and ready to kickstart your buying career, this is the perfect opportunity for you.Please double check you have the right level of experience and qualifications by reading the full overview of this opportunity below.About the RoleAs an Assistant Buyer, you'll be instrumental in helping your Buyer/Senior Buyer achieve their category's key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, income, terms, and stock turn. You'll be the backbone of the team, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time, keeping our operations running smoothly.This isn't just an admin role; it's a stepping stone to becoming a Buyer yourself! You'll gain invaluable experience by:Attending supplier meetings, taking notes, and managing actions.Conducting competitor analysis both in-store and online.Assisting with product sourcing and selection.Supporting your lead buyer with range updates and store bay sign-offs.Compiling weekly sales reports and relevant market information.Reviewing social media trends related to your product category.Collaborating with our E-commerce team on product launches and working with dropship suppliers to introduce new online ranges.Managing price amendments and discrepancies.Handling essential paperwork such as supplier funding forms, new supplier forms, and new line forms.Coordinating sample image requests and product samples.When you're ready, and with the full support of your lead Buyer, you'll even get the chance to take on buying responsibility for a specific area!We're searching for a dedicated individual with:Excellent attention to detail you'll be the one ensuring everything is precise.Strong communication skills you'll be liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills you're comfortable with data and spreadsheets.Proficient Powerpoint/Google Slides skills you can create compelling, board-level presentations.Relevant experience working in the retail industry.A highly organised approach with a determination to succeed.The ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.A highly numerate mindset.A genuine passion for product and retailing.Ambition to grow and develop within a dynamic buying environment.If you're ready to dive into the exciting world of retail buying and make a real impact, we want to hear from you!Why Robert Dyas?Join a brand with a rich history and a bright future.
