As we prepare to launch this programme, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Course Leader in Criminology to play a key role in shaping and leading this exciting new programme from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting contribution to a growing institution and inspire the next generation of criminology professionals.Job Responsibilities:Lead the design, delivery, and review of the Criminology programme in collaboration with university partners and internal teams.Ensure academic coherence and consistency across modules, assessments, and teaching delivery.Coordinate the planning and scheduling of teaching and assessment activities across the programme.Provide line management or academic oversight of lecturers and associate staff contributing to the programme.Monitor student retention, progression, and achievement, and lead interventions where needed.Manage annual monitoring, student feedback, external examiner engagement, and partner reporting.Ensure compliance with awarding university regulations, quality standards, and assessment policies.Collaborate with the Head of Academics or Dean to lead and enhance curriculum design, development, and delivery in Criminology.Ensure high-quality academic standards through assessment moderation, feedback, and peer review processes.Engage in subject-specific and pedagogical research, contributing to the academic profile of William College and supporting student success.Participate in university/partner-led research and scholarly activities relevant to Criminology and social sciences.Champion continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices, including self-assessment and quality monitoring.Strengthen links with criminal justice stakeholders, including law enforcement, charities, and policy bodies, to enhance employability and real-world application.
