Location: Dorking, SurreySalary: CompetitiveHours: Full-timeA well-regarded law firm with offices across Surrey is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its growing Private Client Department in Dorking. The firm is known for delivering expert legal advice with a personal touch and fostering a collaborative, supportive working culture.This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified lawyer who is passionate about private client work and looking to develop their expertise within a strong and experienced team.The department advises clients on wills, probate, estate planning, and trusts, with a focus on high-quality, tailored legal support. The successful candidate will be supported by senior lawyers and partners, offering hands-on experience and ongoing professional development.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide advice and support to clients on a range of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, and powers of attorneyManage a supervised caseload, ensuring all matters are progressed efficiently and professionallyDraft legal documents such as wills, lasting powers of attorney, and trust deeds, ensuring compliance with legal standardsAssist in estate and inheritance tax planning, including advising on trust structuresSupport the full administration of estates, including applying for grants of probate, liaising with HMRC, and distributing estate assetsDeliver a high standard of client care, with sensitivity to clients' personal circumstancesEnsure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations, including SRA and AML requirementsTake part in ongoing training and development to remain up to date with changes in private client law and best practicesCandidate RequirementsRecently qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, ideally with experience or a training seat in private client workA genuine interest in private client law, particularly trusts and tax planningExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain legal matters clearly and empatheticallyStrong organisational skills with attention to detail in both document preparation and file managementAble to build strong and trusting relationships with clientsFamiliar with legal case management systems and standard office softwareHigh standards of ethics, professionalism, and integrityWhat the Firm OffersCompetitive salary and benefits packageA welcoming and inclusive team environmentRegular training, mentoring and professional development opportunitiesThe chance to work alongside experienced private client professionals on quality workClear pathways for career progression and continued growth within the firm This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to start their private client career in a firm that values client care, professional development, and team collaboration.
