We're working with a market-leading student accommodation provider, who are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their Central Support team. You'll be supporting payroll operations for a diverse workforce across multiple locations, gaining exposure to complex payroll scenarios whilst working alongside experienced professionals who value accuracy and efficiency.Key responsibilitiesProcess new starter information and liaise with HR and site managers for accurate payroll setupHandle monthly site amendments and obtain necessary approvals from senior managementMaintain payroll system updates and process leaver calculations including holiday paySupport monthly payroll submissions and review preview reports for accuracyProduce monthly journals and reconcile key payroll ledgers including Wages Control and PAYEAssist with year-end activities, P11D submissions and third-party audit enquiriesStay current with payroll regulations and tax law changes to ensure complianceSupport additional reporting requirements and ad-hoc duties as neededRequirementsPrevious payroll experience essentialProgress towards or commitment to pursuing CIPP/ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualificationsExceptional attention to detail with strong numeracy skillsAbility to handle confidential information with complete discretionProficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software packagesExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong organisational skills with ability to work independentlyProactive problem-solving approach with methodical working styleRewards and benefitsProfessional development support towards recognised accounting qualificationsOpportunity to work with a market-leading organisation in student accommodationCollaborative working environment focused on excellence and team supportExposure to complex payroll operations across multiple UK locationsCareer progression opportunities within an established and growing businessWe are an equal opportunities recruiter, valuing diversity and inclusion and welcoming applications from all suitably qualified individuals, regardless of background.Location: Ardington
