The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing our financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with proficiency in using accounting software and tools. The Senior Accounts Assistant will collaborate closely with the finance team and other departments to deliver accurate financial reports and support the company's financial health and growth.Key Responsibilities:Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial recordsManaging the month-end process (producing monthly management accounts)Preparing quarterly VAT returns for reviewPreparing CIS returns through XeroPrepare and process sales invoices and other financial documentsResponsible for credit controlAssist in the preparation of financial reportsAssisting with the preparation of the Company cashflow and budgetsAny other ad hoc accounts and administrative tasksQualifications:AAT qualified or qualified to this level from experienceKnowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principlesProficient with the use of MS Office, particularly ExcelExperience in the utilities sector would be advantageousExperience with Xero accounting softwareA full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 pointsSkills:High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasksStrong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and stakeholdersAbility to identify issues and develop effective solutionsExcellent organisational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesAbility to work well within a team and support colleagues; be a team player with excellent communication skillsMaintaining confidentiality and integrity of financial informationSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyBenefits:A competitive salary40 hours per week20 days annual leave, private health insurance, company pension scheme and moreBe part of a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to making a positive impact on the environmentIf you are passionate about finance and have the skills necessary for this role, we encourage you to apply by sending your CV and Cover Letter to recruitment@solarsouthwest.co.uk.
