It involves liaising with external agencies, facilitating group and community-based activities, and promoting social inclusion.The position ensures users understand and engage with the service, while actively monitoring safety and wellbeing. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.Here's what the team will be looking forThe ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis needs, backed by a strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Programme Approach (CPA). They will be knowledgeable about a range of mental health conditions, effective communication techniques, and recovery-based approaches, always offering support with dignity and respect. A calm, non-judgemental attitude, along with the ability to manage challenging behaviour and defuse difficult situations, is essential. The role requires someone who can work independently and as part of a team, confidently oversee volunteer inductions, and demonstrate strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills. Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including early and late shifts and occasional weekends, is key.
