Job DescriptionAs a Transport Administrator, you will be responsible for the daily creation of customer consignments, ensuring accuracy of information at all times. You will reconcile consignment costs against daily schedules from customers to ensure accurate charging and invoicing at week and period end. Working hours:4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-06:00. Salary:£27,050.40 per annum. Key Duties of a Transport AdministratorCreate and check all daily customer consignments on the in-house AS400 system (GTS), generally via EDI Import, liaising directly with customers where relevant. Ensure all consignments are correctly administered, rated, and ready to invoice, obtaining rates for any new delivery points from ESL (Eddie Stobart Logistics) Finance and Reporting Team where necessary. Amend consignment details as required, communicating all changes to relevant parties such as ESL Planning teams and Tesco on-site teams. Create dummy consignments on GTS to support ESL Planning teams and Operations regarding driver manning levels. Produce reports (KPI and others) for the customer and ESL using Microsoft Excel, including Volume, Dummy Jobs, and Performance Reports. Reconcile work on ESL’s GTS system against customer schedules for individual Tesco depots to ensure accurate charging and invoicing. Liaise with Transport Managers and on-site teams to ensure data accuracy presented to the customer. Assist Admin Team Leader and Data Analyst with providing daily/weekly performance and cost reports. Provide Tesco on-site teams with updated information on new stores, including Risk Assessments, rates, and GTS Location codes. Support the Admin Team Leader and team with general administrative tasks and escalate issues when unresolved. Complete daily Irish conference calls to agree on trailer requirements. Manage Isotrak compliance, ensuring loads are tracked and liaising with planning to resolve driver and job errors. Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure availability of trailers to meet demand. Conduct daily yard checks for safety and legal compliance, reporting any defects. Stay informed on news, vacancies, and process updates via ESL Intranet. QualificationsPrevious experience in an administrative role. Strong numeracy, accuracy, and literacy skills. Excellent communication skills. Flexible, committed, and motivated. Ability to use initiative and meet deadlines. Capable of working under pressure and with limited supervision. A team player who can also work independently.
