APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITYWould you like to make a difference and contribute to the work of the Risk Management Authority (RMA)? If so, these roles may be of interest to you.The Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs is seeking to appoint two new members to the Board of the Risk Management Authority.The RMA’s strategic purpose is to make Scotland safer by setting the standard for risk practice to reduce reoffending and the harm it causes. Its duties focus on protecting the public by ensuring robust risk assessment and management practices to reduce the risk of serious harm posed by violent and sexual offenders.The Risk Management Authority aims to be representative of the people of Scotland and welcomes applications from women, LGBT+ people, young people, disabled people, and those from minority ethnic communities. Candidates from various geographic regions in Scotland are encouraged to apply.Skills/Experience RequiredLegally qualified person with experience of human rights (Priority criterion 1)Academic researcher in criminal justice and public protection (Priority criterion 2)Analysis and decision-makingWorking cooperatively and collaborativelyGovernance in the context of the RMAEffective communicationRemuneration and Time Commitment The appointments require a commitment of 2 to 3 days every 2 months, totaling no more than 15 days per year, as needed.The roles are non-pensionable and attract a fee of£224.88per day, on a pro-rata basis, up to a maximum of£3,373.20per financial year.
