Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs in our welcoming mainstream primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s school experience, helping them to thrive both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, in line with their individual education plan (IEP) Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to implement strategies that support the pupil’s development Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to staff and parents/carers where appropriate Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages independence, confidence, and engagement Support the pupil with emotional regulation and positive behaviour management The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working with children with SEND (especially on a 1:1 basis) A calm, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting learning and wellbeing Strong communication and teamwork skills A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential What We Offer: A supportive and friendly team environment Opportunities for professional development and training A school culture that values inclusion, creativity, and the wellbeing of staff and pupils alike Job Type: Full-time Pay: £82.14-£85.00 per day Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday No weekends Experience: SEND: 2 years (preferred) Licence/Certification: DBS on the Update Service (preferred) Work Location: In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
