Further information can be accessed here -Senior Health Care Support Worker Outpatients Department, CCC Liverpool 28.5 hrs Monday - Friday inclusive of bank holidays (Fixed term for 14 months to cover maternity leave - secondment would be considered) An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Outpatient Department at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool site, although cross cover between other sites may also be required. The role involves working collaboratively with registered nurses, clinicians and members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Outpatient Department. Outpatients currently support a wide variety of clinical teams and activities within the department including endoscope, ECG, phlebotomy, PICC & Port access and care, SACT assessment clinics. This offers our staff a varied working day and daily learning opportunities. Excellent communication skills are essential and phlebotomy experience is desired. Main duties of the job The senior health care support worker role involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, PICC and Port access and care; assisting the clinicians with endoscopic procedures, cleaning, safe handling and storage of the endoscopes; observations, urinalysis, BM recording, ECG recording; preparing for clinics and maintaining high standards of documentation and record keeping. Excellent communication skills and experience of working as a Band 3 health care support worker with phlebotomy experience is essentialThis role will be mostly based within the clinics in The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool and Paddington, however there may be a requirement to work flexibly supporting our other Outpatient Clinics across our other sites (Aintree and Wirral) if necessary.
