Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative Data & Analytics Department that is at the forefront of delivering high-quality information and insights to support the Trust's vision and values. As a Data Analyst, you will use your skills and experience to collect, process, analyse, and present data from various sources to help the Trust improve its services, performance, quality, and safety. You will also collaborate with clinical and managerial staff, as well as external stakeholders, to provide them with timely and accurate data that informs their decision making and planning. You will also play a key role in developing and implementing data standards, policies, and systems to ensure data quality and integrity. You will be part of a supportive and friendly team of data analysts, led by a Data & Analytics Lead, and you will benefit from the National Competency Framework that will enhance your skills and competencies to keep up with industry standards. A typical week will involve tasks such as producing routine reports from procedure notes, extracting data and information for ad hoc requests both internally and externally to the hospital, extracting information for Freedom of Information requests and helping to maintain and create ORBIT reports within Power BI. Many of the tasks require writing queries and troubleshooting existing queries using SQL databases with many reports produced in Excel. Therefore you should have good analytical skills backed up with evidence of ability to work with databases. An understanding of the NHS datasets is desirable.
