We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor - £29,000 per annum - Durhamto assist the Site Operations Manager with the smooth running of the Durham Cross Dock. Requirements: Previous experience in home delivery and working within a transport office. Warehouse experience preferred. Working hours:40 hours per week, shift times between 5.45 am and 6.15 pm. The Role The Operations Supervisor will support the Site Operations Manager in managing the Durham Cross Dock operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Responsibilities include: Supporting safe and compliant Cross Dock and Transport operations. Ensuring processes are followed on-site and on the road. Managing fleet, equipment, and resourcing levels to meet demand. Leading and motivating the team, embodying company values. Focusing on customer service and performance improvement. Providing innovative solutions for continuous improvement. Coaching and mentoring team members. Working with the Site Operations Manager on efficiencies and best practices. Supporting performance reviews and objective setting. Organizing service and maintenance of MHE and vehicles. Managing driver hours in line with legislation and transport planning. Skills and Experience: Essential: Experience in transport operations. Desirable: Warehouse experience. Good geographical knowledge. Understanding of transport legislation. Computer literacy. Effective communication and influencing skills. Ability to improve team performance. Personal Qualities: Team-oriented and positive attitude. Hardworking, conscientious, and flexible. Self-motivated and disciplined. Willing to work additional hours during peak times.
