We’re looking for an Underwriter to support our renewal book of property and casualty business from an assigned broker panel in the North of England, mainly around Manchester and Leeds. You will deliver superior service, underwrite, and manage a renewal book, while supporting Development Underwriters in producing new business. This role offers hybrid working and a £1,500 referral bonus. What Will You Do? Underwrite and assess risk to maximize growth and profitability. Make prompt, sound decisions within your authority. Negotiate terms and conditions. Understand and execute Travelers' underwriting strategies. Manage your book of business, maintaining quality, growth, and profit. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance. Engage in training to develop underwriting skills. Develop broker/client relationships and support sales strategies. Collaborate with colleagues across regions and units. Provide excellent customer service. Act ethically and comply with regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Degree preferred. Experience in underwriting and developing new business. Knowledge of the local insurance market and regulatory environment. Understanding of technical underwriting. Analytical, decision-making, communication skills, and team work. Customer focus and broker interaction skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Relationship management skills; ACII preferred. What is a Must Have? Experience in Property and Casualty underwriting. Valid driving license. What Is in It for You? Private Medical Insurance.
