Please review the Placement Map link below to see all schools involved in placements and ensure you can travel to at least one or more schools. Only apply for one vacancy, which is your location preference, and it can be changed later. As a counsellor on placement, you will provide emotional and therapeutic support to children aged 4-18 in partner schools, adhering to the BACP ethical framework. We offer high support levels through supervision, training, and a recognized clinical placement. Placement involves working at least one day per week in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children, during term time only, for one academic year, with opportunities for extension. Additional benefits include optional workshops for CPD, clinical hours contributing toward professional accreditation, and a pathway into a career with Place2Be, with many staff having started as placement counsellors. Counting your hours Clinical hours gained can contribute to accreditation with bodies like BACP and UKCP. Check with your course tutor if child hours are accepted for your course. If not, you may consider a second placement for experience.
