Must be flexible with shifts and able to work on short notice. Job Description We’re looking for a Shift Leader at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco, to work in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee store activities, run duty shifts, and coordinate a team to ensure a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations. The role focuses on improving customer service through coaching, understanding store performance, and implementing practical improvements. You will ensure the store remains a safe environment for both staff and customers. You will be Responsible For Leading the team to provide excellent shopping experiences. Opening and closing the store, managing duty cover, and making customer and safety-focused decisions. Serving as the point of contact for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager. Supporting store events and creating an inclusive atmosphere. Maintaining store cleanliness and presentation. Prioritizing product replenishment based on customer needs. Ensuring accurate pricing and signage. Handling overcharges and preventing reoccurrences. Managing queues to enhance customer experience. Scheduling staff breaks and daily priorities. Monitoring store performance and implementing improvements. Following health and safety routines. Communicating effectively with the team. Suggesting operational improvements to the Store Manager. Focusing on customer needs and resolving queries. Recognizing colleagues' excellent service. Addressing obstacles to service delivery. Handling colleague queries or escalating issues. Managing staffing levels, including short-term absences. Acting as Keyholder, including alarm response. Ensuring internal communications are followed up. Balancing service and replenishment tasks. Supporting absence management and return-to-work processes. Building relationships with managers and HR partners. If the store has a Post Office Local, duties include Post Office operations, requiring background checks which must be passed to proceed.
