The Cyber Security Manager will support the Enterprise Security Lead to ensure a high level of security assurance for Executive Members, Trustees, and UK Government at all times. This role will also provide expertise and support in achieving UCAS's strategic goals for IT and Cyber security, aiming to position UCAS as a leader in cyber security within the education sector. The Cyber Security Manager will help deliver an integrated security service with strong collaboration across all parts of the organization, including engagement with executive members. Key accountabilities: Provide internal security services, collaborating with various teams on security matters and responding to SAQs. Work with the Enterprise Security Lead and team to develop and maintain a security strategy and maturity model benchmarked against similar organizations. Lead or support cybersecurity initiatives and projects as directed. Work closely with our outsourced security providers, ensuring the operational security services contracted are delivered effectively. For a full list of accountabilities, see the attached role profile. Skills, qualifications, and experience: Qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISM, GIAC, CISSP, CISMP, or SANS Certification. ITIL V3/V4 Foundation or higher. Significant experience in a similar role; lesser experience may be considered for the right candidate. Knowledge of standards like ISO27001, CIS-18, NIST CSF, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, GDPR, etc. Good understanding of technical and operational aspects of IT systems and security practices embedded into agile development methodologies. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of engaging with internal stakeholders at all levels.
