If you have the skills and experience for the job, please apply regardless of your background.Detailed Job Description And Main ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will lead the health promotion of under-served and marginalised communities namely; People of African/Caribbean Heritage, Commercial Sex Workers (CSW), Men who have sex with men (MSM) and other groups at increased risk of poor sexual health outcomes. Delivery will be through community engagement approaches that tackle HIV/STI related stigma and discrimination. Delivering targeted interventions that increase knowledge and awareness of STIs including HIV, increase STI and HIV testing and highlight the benefits of early diagnosis, access to care treatment and increase the uptake of broader sexual health services across Suffolk.The post holder will also lead the team delivering a comprehensive training offer to support professionals working with under-served groups, and those providing support to young people across Suffolk. This will include the delivery of relationships, sex and health education to educational staff, as well as educational sessions delivered directly to young people.The role will require working closely with other professionals, organisations and stakeholders, as well as directly with local communities, to meet the needs of key target groups most at risk of poor sexual health and HIV outcomes.The post holder will represent Provide at local partnership events both in public and at professional networking events and meetings.The post holder will support the Service Manager in managerial responsibilities, which include line managing staff members, reporting, and covering the service in the Service Manager’s absence.This role will require the successful applicant to undergo an enhanced DBS check.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo lead on health promotion for SSHS, tailoring interventions using local needs assessment and national data to ensure delivery is aimed at relevant communities. These include, for example, HIV & STI testing, health promotion including HIV awareness, inter-faith/faith-based work, GP engagement, campaign delivery/ social marketing in line with the delivery of regional and national HIV prevention programmes. Identify and build upon best practice for co-production, co-design, and engagement of people in the identification, development, and delivery of SSHS services/activities with both young people and adults. Increasing professional and public awareness and knowledge of sexual health and HIV by co-ordinating, designing, delivering and evaluating professionals training days and community education sessions both virtually and face to face. Support co-ordination of the eC-Card scheme (free condoms and lube for people aged 16-24), ensuring that young people are aware of the scheme and how they access it, and to lead on eC-Card training for professionals to enable them to become eC-Card assessors and distributors. Establish and maintain relationships of trust and a collaborative approach with community leaders, faith leaders, organisations, networks and individuals to deliver co-produced HIV and STI interventions working in partnership with Provide’s Marketing and Communications team. To oversee delivery of campaigns and events such as World AIDS Day, National HIV Testing Week, Sexual Health Week, LGBT+ History Month, Pride, Black History Month and other promotions and events. To facilitate a condom distribution service aimed at increasing access to condoms and lubricant to under-serviced communities and those at increased risk of poor sexual health outcomes. To achieve relevant competencies to deliver clinical services within the community, this can include the delivery of HIV and Syphilis POCT, and other testing / vaccinations as required to meet the needs of the service. To ensure a high quality of data entry to clinical and client records and wider databases and effectively use data this to produce high quality service reporting including both qualitative and quantitative data, monitoring performance against set Key Performance Indicators. Use a wide range of methods to engage diverse communities including social media, radio, TV, attending community events and groups, and visiting commercial and community venues and public sex environments. Representing the organisation and local service at contract and quality assurance meetings with lead providers and commissioners and other relevant meetings as required. To directly line-manage staff members, including appraisals and supervisions, and supporting in recruitment. To manage own workload, maintaining and updating calendars, annual leave records, and to notify line manager of any change in personal circumstances or personal information relevant to the role. Taking an active and continued responsibility for self-led education relevant to the role. This includes maintaining awareness of local and national campaigns and statistics related to sexual health and HIV. Working flexibly to meet the continuous evolution of the service and its beneficiaries across a wide geographical location. This includes flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
