Collaborating with a team of experienced radiologists, oncologists and healthcare professionals, you will perform a range of radiographic procedures using state of the art equipment and techniques. Such procedures include, complex CT guided biopsies and drainages, SIRTS, Chemo SATS, embolisations and complex vascular cases. Your expertise will contribute directly to the development of tailored treatment plans for patients, helping to optimise their outcomes and overall experience.As part of your role as a diagnostic radiographer you will be supported to access professional development and educational opportunities through The Christie School of Oncology. The Christie People & Culture Plan actively supports AHPs to engage in advanced clinical practice and research from postgraduate through to doctorate level education. Examples include PG Cert opportunities in CT, reporting of plain film and carrying out and reporting fluoroscopy guided upper GI examinations.To perform radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service in order to assist in the management of patients referred from clinicians and nurse specialists within the TrustThe nature of the centre determines that a high proportion of patients that the diagnostic radiographer will come into contact with will be poorly, many being terminally ill. This therefore requires frequent sensitive communication and a level of patient care, whilst respecting patient confidentially.The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year.
