Were seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering team delivering bespoke systems for high-integrity applications. Based in Berkshire, this is an exciting opportunity to take a technical lead on post-order project activities from design and calculation through to documentation and customer engagement.Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.You'll be working on complex mechanical systems, primarily pressure vessels, ensuring all design work meets both technical requirements and industry standards, including ASME and PED. In addition to hands-on engineering tasks, youll also support the Engineering Manager in allocating and tracking project tasks across the team.Required Experience and Skills:Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)Strong background in pressure vessel design, with extensive experience using AutoCAD and Inventor for both 2D and 3D workWell-versed in applying industry codes such as ASME VIII Div 1 & 2, PD5500, PED, and ASME B31.3Solid understanding of structural calculations and producing technical documentationConfident using SAP and Microsoft Office toolsMust hold a UK passport (due to security clearance requirements on government contracts)Desirable Experience:Familiarity with pressure vessel design tools such as PV Elite or CodeCalcExperience using ANSYS for Finite Element AnalysisKnowledge of Autodesk Vault for managing drawing configurationExposure to EN13445 and additional pressure vessel standardsPrior involvement in team leadership or mentoring within an engineering environment
