They are looking to recruit a Materials Chemist to join their R&D team to support the development of new materials and chemical formulations for advanced applications.The Materials Chemist will ideally have the following attributes:A degree (PhD/MSc/BSc) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related fieldAt least 2 years experience working in a similar roleStrong experience working in a wet chemistry lab, with a good understanding of lab safety and process controlStrong knowledge of inorganic chemistryKnowledge of polymer science, formulation chemistry, or composite materialsHands-on experience with lab-scale synthesis and analytical techniques (e.g. DSC, TGA, SEM, FTIR)Familiarity with testing and characterisation of polymers and chemical materialsExcellent problem-solving skills Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate othersStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenBe able to work well individually as well as part of a teamResponsibilities include:Developing and testing new material formulationsConducting chemical and physical analyses on raw materials and finished productsPreparing reports and technical documentation on material properties and performanceSupporting scale-up and transfer of formulations from R&D to productionWorking closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and engineeringBeing the main POC for technical support on R&DLiaising with other departments to manage such projects Running trials and experiments Guiding more junior members of the team Maintaining technical documentation as required Keeping up to date with reports and developments in inorganic chemistry Ensuring quality and H&S standards are met Pushing for constant progression in the R&D department for product development and manufacturing techniques If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
