You'll be a key part of one of the UK's biggest and most high-profiledigital transformation programs, a once-in-a-generation reform of government products andservices.You'll keep pace with the introduction of relevant agile/lean tools and techniques and removeobstacles and blockers that might hinder delivery. DevOps is a culture, approach, and set ofpractices that apply lean process improvement and automation to enable a flow of workingsoftware to its real users. This means looking across organizational functions of Developmentand Operations that might previously have operated as separate silos.Key Responsibilities: Develop high quality and maintainable code with automation first approach. Provide in-depth insight into DevOps issues and strong technical experience. Maintain an open-minded attitude and ability to rapidly adapt and learn in line withDevOps culture. Facilitate workshops, meetings with a variety of stakeholders, show and tell, and driveoutcomes. Manage technology change, issues, and escalations (external and internal), takingresponsibility by owning them until they are mitigated or resolved. Lead by example, acting as a servant-leader, demonstrating the right behaviours,dealing with conflict, and helping establish a team culture that allows for constructivecriticism.Essential Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience with a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS,ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS) to develop and maintainan AWS-based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security. Expertise in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such asVagrant. Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment,including automation experience with configuration management tools. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA) and automationskills. Thorough knowledge of Jenkins and pipeline using Groovy script. Experience with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI. Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Alert Manager, Prometheus,and Node exporter). Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and applicationdeployment issues. Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and changemanagement. Knowledge of Windows System Update Service and DFS Replication. Experience with Windows Group Policy Objects and access/permissions control viaGPO. Experience in automating and codifying the installation of software packages. Nexus security scanning and antivirus experience with ClamAV and MS defender.Desired Skills and Experience: Linux system administration experience, including building, hardening, and managingLinux operating systems. MS Active Directory configuration and management. Firewall and switch configuration and patch management. Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services(DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP). Hands-on DevOps delivery experience working on digital or technology projects at aleading consultancy, agency, or government organization. AWS or Azure certification, or willingness to attain the certification. Self-starter, comfortable working in both process-driven and ambiguousenvironments. Experience and passion for working within Central Government and other sectors. Proven capability of working successfully with senior client stakeholders and end-users, quickly building successful relationships, and establishing credibility. Passion for digital and technology, with the drive and determination to continuallylearn new things and develop yourself and others. Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with a high degree ofattention to detail. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a highlycollaborative, team-based environment.
