Department: Enterprise Programme Management Office (EPMO)Job PurposeThe Lead Document Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the document control community, ensuring efficient, secure, and compliant management of project information across all stages.This includes establishing and maintaining document control processes, governance and training to support project delivery and business objectives. The role ensures adherence to applicable industry standards, including ISO 19650, and drives continuous improvement in document control practices.ReportsDirect None CurrentlyIn-Direct Functional leadership and competency management for company-wide document control community.Key ResponsibilitiesDocument Control Standards & GovernanceWorking with Lead Information Manager, develop, implement and audit document control standards, ensuring alignment with industry standards and project requirements.Establish and maintain document control procedures and policies to drive consistency and compliance across all projects.Promote adoption and proper use of the chosen Common Data Environment (CDE) for project information and ensure compliance with Aureos standards and appropriately aligned to ISO19650 and ISO27001. Define and enforce document security, retention, and archiving policies in compliance with GDPR, ISO27001 and ISO19650.Act as the final escalation point for document control-related issues across all projects.Ensure seamless document handover to clients at project completion.Ensure that document control processes are embedded into project workflows, providing training and support where necessary.Monitor compliance with ISO 19650 and contractual requirements through regular health-checks/audits and reportingEnsure all project information is stored and managed appropriately in accordance with agreed Information Management Plan.Team Management & DevelopmentManage, mentor, and develop the document control team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.Identify training needs and implement learning programmes to enhance team capability.Establish and maintain competency frameworks and career progression pathways for document control professionals.Provide functional line management for all document controllers.
