Strategic Senior Buyer – High-Growth ManufacturerLocation: Hybrid – High Wycombe 3/4 days or Coventry 2 days and High Wycombe 1 daySalary: Up to £60,000 + Bonus + Private Medical + PensionAn established and ambitious UK manufacturing business is seeking a Strategic Senior Buyer to support its continued growth. With over 30 years of success and a turnover of around £30 million, the business is now entering a significant phase of development, offering a unique opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact.Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, this role offers genuine variety—covering everything from raising purchase orders and managing product returns to influencing long-term sourcing strategy and supplier development. It's a rare opportunity to contribute both tactically and strategically within a dynamic and forward-thinking team.About the RoleThis is a broad procurement position offering full exposure to the sourcing lifecycle. You’ll work closely with international suppliers, particularly across India and the Far East, and be trusted to improve supply chain resilience, identify risk, and develop high-performing supplier partnerships.Your work will span several key product areas including brackets, fixings, timber, metals, and concrete. The role demands a commercially aware and detail-oriented individual who can manage day-to-day procurement activities while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the function.Key Responsibilities of Senior BuyerManaging procurement activity across both operational and strategic tasksRaising purchase orders, handling product returns, and ensuring timely material availabilityDeveloping and maintaining strong supplier relationships across India and the Far EastImplementing dual sourcing and other risk mitigation strategiesCollaborating with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with business needsMonitoring supplier performance and driving continuous improvementAnalysing market trends and supplier capabilities to support commercial decision-makingMaintaining accurate procurement records and data systemsRequired Experience and SkillsStrong experience in procurement, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or engineering sectorsA track record of working with suppliers in India and broader Far East regionsExcellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsCommercially astute, with a strong understanding of international supply chain dynamicsDetail-oriented, with strong organisational and data management capabilitiesAbility to work proactively and independently, while also contributing to wider team initiativesBenefitsSalary up to £60,000Performance-related bonusPrivate medical insurance for the individual and their spouse or partnerCompany pension schemeHybrid working model (3–4 days in High Wycombe office, remainder remote.
