Because too often, "team lead" means shielding your team from chaos without ever getting to shape the direction.This role is different.We’re hiring a Ruby Software Engineering Team Lead to take full ownership of a product squad. The company is a SaaS Healthtech who have over 30M users worldwide.You’ll join a remote-first team (UK-based, with quarterly meetups), delivering changes to production over 100 times a month. Speed and safety go hand in hand here, supported by a mature, CI/CD-first mindset.You’ll lead a team of 4 engineers building products that improve real-world healthcare delivery.It’s for someone who wants to lead, not just manage. Someone who still loves shipping code but also wants to coach, unblock, and grow a team.You’ll work closely with your Product Manager and Designer to define the team’s roadmap and set the tone for delivery.What makes this worth your time? It would be great if you’ve also got experience with Ember, but this isn’t essential.You’re still technical and comfortable reviewing PRs and solving tricky problemsYou care about people and have experience mentoring and developing engineersYou understand how to balance autonomy with alignmentThe package:£90,000 to £110,000 salary10% bonus25 days holiday plus your birthday offPrivate healthcare5% pensionRemote-first in the UK with quarterly team meetups The process:Initial Zoom call (1 hour) with 2 Engineering ManagersFinal stage (2 hours): 1st hour is a Paired Programming session in Ruby followed by a 1 hour final interview on ways of working & culture add.If you want to shape not just how software gets built but how engineers grow, this could be the one.
