Are you a proactive and commercially-minded professional with a flair for business development, bid writing, and marketing? Join a well-established and rapidly growing construction group, and take the lead in driving work-winning efforts and elevating the brand presence of a successful Contracting division.About the RoleThis is a pivotal role designed to enhance the business development and marketing performance of the Contracting division and wider group. You’ll be involved across the full spectrum of identifying tender opportunities, writing compelling bid content, supporting digital marketing, and helping the business grow through strategic engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify suitable tender opportunities using Barbour ABI, tender portals, planning platforms, and other resourcesTrack and develop new business opportunities to support ambitious growth targetsProduce high-quality pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and quality submissionsCoordinate technical input for bids and build a structured bid library and image bankDevelop project case studies that capture key successes and USPsCreate engaging marketing content for use across digital platforms, brochures, and presentationsSupport group-wide SEO and PPC campaigns in collaboration with the marketing functionGenerate new leads via client contact, networking, and market analysisOrganise stakeholder meetings, presentations, and seminars to promote company servicesMaintain and strengthen existing relationships, working closely with internal teamsManage and evolve the telesales process in line with business needsAdminister supply chain accreditation and maintain procurement portalsEnsure quality and version control within the Business Management SystemCandidate ProfileMinimum 2 years’ experience in business development, marketing, or bid writing within construction or a similar sectorStrong understanding of the construction industry and ability to spot tender opportunitiesConfident communicator with experience in cold calling and customer engagementExcellent written and verbal English, with strong attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word)Experience working independently and collaboratively with varied stakeholdersIdeally holds a marketing qualification (desirable but not essential)Please note: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.What’s on OfferCompetitive salary (DOE)Company pension schemePrivate medical insurance (after 3 months)Life assurance (4x salary)Health Cash Plan25 days annual leave + bank holidaysRegular training & development opportunitiesFriendly, supportive team in a family-run business environmentSocial events and an inclusive company culture
